Zurich has appointed Christopher Haarmann chief underwriting officer of its specialties business unit. Haarmann will lead underwriting operations for specialties products across the United States.
Haarmann has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience. He joined Zurich in 1998, most recently serving as senior vice president for global liability lines.
Prior to joining Zurich, Haarmann held senior positions Swiss Reinsurance, TIG Insurance, Continental Insurance, AIG and others. He is a graduate of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn., and earned an MBA at Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md. He has the CPCU, ARM and ASLI designations.
