The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) has appointed James K. Schweitzer as senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Previously, Schweitzer was director of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Prior to that, Schweitzer served more than 33 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Schweitzer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of South Florida. He also completed executive programs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Kellogg School of Management. In 2006, he completed the FBI National Executive Institute.
