The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Ontario Chapterpresented the Donald M. Stuart Award to George Simpson, CRM, FCIP,at the 2008 RIMS Canada Conference in Toronto. Created in 1979,this award is the society's highest honor for risk management inCanada.

Simpson has been involved in risk management and insurance formore than 35 years. He is a senior manager of risk management andinsurance in the treasury division at EPCOR Utilities Inc. He hasserved on the board of directors of RIMS Southern Alberta Chapterand RIMS Northern Alberta Chapter, where he was president for twoterms. He has also served as a member of RIMS Canada Council,helping organize two RIMS Canada Conferences.

Also presented was the Fred H. Bossons Award, which acknowledgesindividuals who earn the highest marks on the three coursesrequired to receive the Canadian Risk Management designation. Therecipients include:

o Albert T. Ho, director of property risk management at ING RealEstate Canada
o Anand V. Shastri, senior underwriter at Economical MutualInsurance Group
o Cristian Zamrii, IT manager at CI Investments
