As a result of today's economy, people in the U.S. are cutting back on medical care, according to research from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

Twenty-two percent of U.S. consumers surveyed have reduced the number of times they see the doctor, and 11 percent of consumers are using less prescription drugs or have decreased dosages.

The survey also discovered that despite these cutbacks, the majority has not reduced, cancelled or changed their life, automobile and homeowners insurance policies.
