London-based insurer Amlin said it has acquired a minority stock interest in United Kingdom broker T L Dallas Group Ltd.
The company said it plans to continue developing its existing long-standing business relationships with select United Kingdom retail and wholesale brokers to expand and enhance its product range availability to the broker's clients.
Founded in 1919, T L Dallas is a commercial brokerage firm with offices in Badford, London, Manchester and Lerwick, United Kingdom.
Colin Dallas, chairman of T L Dallas, said his firm looked forward to the joint development of new business lines with Amlin.
Last month, Amlin said it acquired a minority stock position with United Kingdom broker Miles Smith plc.
The company also announced plans to open a representative office in Chicago this month. The office, named Amlin Illinois Inc., will work within the existing Lloyd's infrastructure. The office is headed by David Harris, president of Amlin Illinois.
Paul Glenton was recruited as a vice president to build new operations specializing in property, casualty, auto and marine cargo.
Amlin said it specializes in four business areas: aviation, marine, U.K. commercial, and international property-casualty insurance and reinsurance.
It also has a reinsurance business in Bermuda and an Asia connection through Amlin Singapore.
