Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. announced Jules B. Kroll, the founder of Kroll, will retire from MMC in July. Kroll is currently Chairman of the Board of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and is involved in his alma maters of Georgetown Law School and Cornell University. He plans to complete a book on the creation of Kroll and the industry it pioneered.

Kroll founded Kroll Associates in 1972 as a consultant to corporate purchase departments. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 1963 and an LL.B degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1966. He began his career as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan.
