Whether it is concern over the cost of litigation, management of the defense or indemnification, having employment practices liability insurance is prudent protection for any company–and that includes a managing general agent selling the product, say insurance professionals.

“When you look at the root causes of a claim under an EPLI policy, there exists an exposure that any corporation faces,” Benny Yuen, a senior actuarial advisor in the Atlanta office of the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of New York-based Ernst & Young, said in an e-mail.

The policies cover items such as wrongful termination, discrimination and sexual harassment, and an MGA faces the same exposures as any other employer.
