Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, named Andrew Marcell chief executive officer of the Americas broking operations.
He assumes responsibility for all of Guy Carpenter's treaty and facultative broking operations in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Bermuda.
He replaces Britt Newhouse, who was recently named chairman of Guy Carpenter.
Mr. Marcell, who joined the firm in 1990, was head of global business development and CEO of Guy Carpenter's continental European operations. He was formerly leader of the firm's specialty operations throughout Europe and leader of Guy Carpenter's worldwide casualty specialty practices.
