The Travelers Companies Inc. said it will raise its quarterly dividend payment a penny, to 30 cents per share. The dividend will be paid June 30 to shareholders of record as of June 10.

The St. Paul, Minn.-based insurer reported last month that its first-quarter net income fell 11 percent, or $123 million, to $967 million, or $1.54 a share, hurt by a 12 percent drop in investment income.

The company reported a 1 percent increase from the prior year in net written premium to $5.2 billion and a combined ratio of 87.6 (see NU Online News Service, April 24).
