Benfield opened an office in San Juan, Puerto Rico to service its growing customer base on the island.
Andres Piccinoni has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Benfield Puerto Rico. Piccinoni, who has almost 20 years experience in the banking, insurance and reinsurance markets, was most recently vice-president of corporate commercial credit risk management at First Bancorp. Prior to that, he was vice president and manager of corporate credit risk management and vice president and manager of mergers and acquisitions at Popular Inc. Andres holds an MBA from Boston University's School of Management and a bachelor's degree in economics from Northeastern University.
Benfield has been serving Puerto Rico's insurers, reinsurers, independent insurance brokers and managing general agents for over 30 years.
