Anyone who stumbled into a crowded 8:30 a.m. session of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society International Conference last November could have easily mistaken the meeting of underwriters and brokers for a dermatologists' convention.

During the session about insurance for the expanding medi-spa niche, Nancy Huddlestun, assistant vice president and senior underwriter for General Star Management Company in Chicago, gave the following descriptions of aesthetic/cosmetic procedures carriers might be asked to insure:

o Botox–an injection that relaxes and stops muscles from moving in an effort to minimize fine lines on the face.
