The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. announced the election of its officers during the association's annual convention in Mashantucket, Conn., naming Michael F. Keating its new president.
Mr. Keating is the president of Michael J. Keating Agency Inc. in West Hartford, Conn.
The new president joined the association in 1981 and served as vice president from 2006 until this year and secretary for 2005-2006. He serves as vice president of the Association Programs Committee and is a member of PIA Connecticut's Executive/Budget and Finance Committee. He also is chairperson of the Central Connecticut Advisory Council.
The association also named:
o James Goodman, president of Goodman Insurance Inc. in Shelton, Conn., president-elect.
o To serve as vice president, both Howard Olderman, president of the Olderman and Hallihan Agency Inc. in Ansonia, Conn., and James Berliner, managing member of Berliner Fitelson Insurance LLC and president of Berliner-Gelfand & Co. Inc., both of Bridgeport, Conn.
o Timothy Russell a senior member of The Russell Agency LLC in Southport, Conn., treasurer.
o Brian Schmitt Sr., president of Curtiss, Crandon & Moffette Inc. in Trumbull, Conn., secretary.
o Christopher Wilson, general manager for C.V. Mason & Co. in Bristol, Conn., immediate past president.
All officials serve for a term of one year.
