JavaScriptCCC Information Services has recently released their annual Crash Course report. The 2008 report focuses on the issues that impact collision repair and total loss costs. Some of the topics addressed in this year's report include the in crease in paid claim frequency, the increase in specialty substrate materials, and the proliferation of electronics and safety features.

The report also notes that outside factors such as rising inflation, gas price increases, and an injection of new vehicle technology, had a significant influence on the auto-physical damage industry in 2007. These factors were all found to be contributing to the increase in claim frequency and average vehicle repair cost.

According to CCC, The 36-page report begins with a broad look at the national economy, followed by detailed analysis of categories affecting vehicle insurance and collision repair and includes five- and ten-year historical comparisons.
