JavaScriptCCC Information Services has recently released theirannual Crash Course report. The 2008 report focuses on the issuesthat impact collision repair and total loss costs. Some of thetopics addressed in this year's report include the in crease inpaid claim frequency, the increase in specialty substratematerials, and the proliferation of electronics and safetyfeatures.

The report also notes that outside factors such as risinginflation, gas price increases, and an injection of new vehicletechnology, had a significant influence on the auto-physical damageindustry in 2007. These factors were all found to be contributingto the increase in claim frequency and average vehicle repaircost.

According to CCC, The 36-page report begins with a broad look atthe national economy, followed by detailed analysis of categoriesaffecting vehicle insurance and collision repair and includes five-and ten-year historical comparisons.
