The Kentucky Office of Insurance Fraud Investigation Division found a woman had been receiving disability benefit checks on behalf of a deceased acquaintance.

After the death of Kentucky Department of Corrections employee Clara Ingram in November of 2007, Tanya K. Moodie of Marion had been named as her attorney-in-fact. According to the Kentucky Office of Insurance, Ingram was receiving partial disability benefits due to an injury covered under workers' compensation and Moodie was collecting and cashing those checks until August 2004.

Moodie was charged with one felony count of insurance fraud and received a two-year, suspended prison sentence. She will remain on probation until full restitution is made.
