A New Jersey man was recently brought down after being charged with third-degree insurance fraud and third-degree attempted theft by deception.

David Berry of Millville allegedly contacted the Atlantic City Police Department reporting that his 2003 Dodge Ram pickup had been stolen. Berry allegedly submitted a bogus auto insurance claim to High Point Insurance Company for theft.

According to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Berry supposedly knew that the car had been parked in a no parking zone and had been towed. After learning that the car was actually parked at the towing lot, High Point denied the claim and referred the matter to the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor for investigation.
