The National Association of Insurance Commissioners has recently reported that Florida has been the first state to successfully complete its first use of the insurance company receivership tool, ClaimNet.

The web-based application allows a receivership's claimant to submit a proof of claim, file objections, and inquire about the status of existing claims. ClaimNet was released in December 2006 and was designed by NAIC to provide a standardized method for processing a receivership's claim information.

More information on ClaimNet is available at www.naic.org.
