According to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Samuel Sbarra of Essex County pleaded guilty to his role in an insurance fraud scheme.

Sbarra, a chiropractor licensed by the state of New Jersey, admitted to submitting a false claim to the Chubb Insurance Company and is charged with third-degree attempted theft by deception. The claim stated that he had provided 18 dates of chiropractic services for a total of $1,844 and Chubb Insurance denied the claim and referred the matter to the Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor.

The special investigative unit of the Chubb Insurance Company assisted the OIFP in the investigation of the case. Sbarra faces up to five years in state prison, a criminal fine of up to $15,000, and civil insurance fraud fines.
