The Professional Insurance Agents of Florida has named its newofficers for the upcoming coming year. PIA CEO Mark O'Connell saidthe new team will help the association continue its efforts to keepagents informed of legislative and regulatory issues, educationopportunities, and other services designed to help agents developtheir businesses. “We are pleased to have this dynamic team ofinsurance professionals lead our association as we continue toadvocate, educate, and serve as a resource for our members,” hesaid.

Phil Zelman will serve as the PIA president. Zelman is the vicepresident and co-owner of the Coral Gables-based NCF InsuranceAssociates and is responsible for all aspects of the agency'soperations. He has been an independent agent for 19 years withexperience in both the property casualty and life and health carefields.

Brian Sambeg will serve as the association's president elect. Heis the president and founder of the Boca Raton-based SouthernInsurance Agency, where he oversees the sales andmanagement-development functions. He is licensed as a general linesand life insurance agent.

PIA has named Carol Everhart, CIRMS, as its new vice president.She is a vice president and account executive for the St.Petersburg-based BB&T IIer Wall & Shonter Insurance. Shehas more than 25 years of experience in the industry, specializingin commercial residential coverage.

PIA has also named Kym Godwin, CISR, as the association'ssecretary and treasurer. Godwin founded the Deland-based GodwinInsurance Agency in 2001. The agency specializes in providinghomeowners' coverage to consumers. She has been active in PIA since1998 and served as a board member since 2003.
