Colorado State University researchers Phillip J. Klotzbach and William M. Gray have released their latest Atlantic hurricane activity forecast for October and November 2007.

According to the report, as of Oct. 1, 2007, a total of 13 named storms, four hurricanes, and two major hurricanes have developed this season. The October-November forecast remains almost the same as the predictions made in early August and September.

The researchers are expecting an active October and November this year, calling for four named storms, two hurricanes, one major hurricane, and above-average net tropical cyclone activity. The researchers report that this above-average prediction is due to La Ni?a conditions that have emerged over the past few months.
