New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Insurance Commissioner Roger A. Sevigny recently announced the indictment of a woman for insurance fraud.
The indictment of Inge Lasut of Manchester, New Hampshire alleges that she applied for an auto insurance policy with Progressive in early 2005. Lasut supposedly filed a claim three days later, even though damage had happened before she applied for the insurance policy.
Lasut’s indictment stated that she intended to defraud Progressive by providing false information.
She faces a fine of $4,000 and up to seven years in prison if convicted.
