Farmers’ Insurance Group said its agents and employees recently staged the largest single-day fundraiser in March of Dimes history, raising more than $2.6 million.

The fundraising program held yesterday, called “Be a Hero for Babies Day,” marks the second year the Los Angeles-based carrier sponsored the program. Last year, the insurer raised $1.44 million, surpassing its goal of $1 million.
