The specialty market has several distribution systems available offering services to retailers that guide them through market changes.

Managing general agents and surplus lines brokers are the two most common types of wholesalers. There are also product line managers, managing general underwriters, Lloyd's correspondents and several wholesalers who act in multiple distribution systems.

o MGAs are wholesalers that may deal with either or both admitted and non-admitted markets. They have contracts that allow them binding authority with American markets, and many will likely include access to Lloyd's syndicates.
