A recent report by Guy Carpenter covered the overwhelming nor'easter storm that hit the eastern United States causing heavy rains and powerful winds, leading to considerable flooding and claiming eight lives.
Thunderstorms extended from Florida, up the coast to New England with the most severe storms hitting between North Carolina and New York. Thousands were left without electricity in several states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and North Carolina.
Train services between Connecticut and upper Manhattan have been disrupted as the result of flooding in the Bronx. The storms also caused 500 flight cancellations at the three New York City airports on Sunday, April 15.
