Florida Insurance Council Chair Tom Koval has announced a re-organization of the group's committee structure and named chairs and vice chairs. Koval said the changes were designed to help eliminate redundant efforts and increase interaction among the various lines of insurance that FIC represents.

One of the major changes is the creation of Advocacy Procedures, designed to govern all issues related to FIC's advocacy, from conflicts of interest, to hiring consultants, to the creation of formal legislative positions.

At the core of the Advocacy Program is the creation of a mechanism through which recommended legislative positions are filtered, adopted, or disapproved with opportunities for all to have input and a voice at varying levels.
