Several recent articles have commented on and decried the lack of significant interface progress, as highlighted in the recent AUGIE "Agency Technology Survey." That survey reported continued agency frustration with carrier proprietary systems, duplicate data-entry and the absence of viable solutions to at last achieve single-entry, multiple-company interface.
While the focus of most of these articles has been personal lines, the call for more and better small-commercial interface seems to be growing louder and more persistent.
While it's true that virtually every carrier who is serious about small commercial has invested tens of millions of dollars in making their quoting and issuance systems easy for agents to use, it is equally true that proprietary small-commercial carrier systems still don't do much to eliminate duplicate agency entry, and still don't do much to enable a SEMCI environment.
