The Professional Insurance Agents of Florida has honoredMacNeill Group Managing General Agency for its 50 years of supportto the association. The Sunset-based MacNeill is a 60-year old firmthat is one of the largest and most progressive firms in the state.It currently employs some 350 people who transact business withover 3,000 agencies across the state. It processes over $500million in premiums that represent more than 385,000 policyholders.PIA CEO Mark O'Connell presented the award to MacNeill at thefirm's office last month.

“MacNeill has an unsurpassed commitment to the PIA of Florida,as evidenced by their 50-year strong membership, thelongest-standing partner membership in our organization,” saidO'Connell. “This commitment to PIA extends to agents across thestate and was evidenced by MacNeill's support during the horrific2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons.”

Citing the 2004 hurricane season, O'Connell recounted thatMacNeill Group President Doug Billington called PIA's office andasked, “How can we help?” As a result, Bullington donated the useof one of the firm's mobile response vehicles to assist agents andpolicyholders in hurricane damaged areas. The same offer was madein 2005, even though MacNeill's office suffered its own damage dueto Hurricane Wilma.

PIA officer Phil Zelman, president of NCF Insurance Associatesin Coral Gables, praised MacNeill for its efforts on behalf of theassociation. “My agency has been working with MacNeill since ourinception 25 years ago,” he said. “I am constantly amazed at theirdevotion and passion to superior customer service that permeatesthe entire company. I know it's one of the keys to itssuccess.”
