Scene Genesis, Inc. (SGI) recently unveiled SceneConnect, a web-services product that lets property-casualty insurers connect their claim systems with external applications and data sources.

The company said that by providing one place to integrate internal and external systems, SceneConnect eliminates the need to custom-code interfaces with third-party applications. The company also said the technology eliminates manual work needed to handle claims, allowing insurers to cut costs, reduce errors, and serve customers better.

The service is built on Microsoft's .NET platform and provides web services for easy integration with existing applications. IT and business users have access to a visual-message workflow tool that can diagram the required workflow for a specific claim and identify roadblocks and human interaction points in the process. It was originally developed to meet the integration needs of SGI's customers.
