Claims News Service, June 1, 9:55 a.m. EDT -- Richard Picciotto, a retired New York City Fire Department Battalion Commander and the highest ranking firefighter to survive the World Trade Center collapse, will be the keynote speaker for the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Society's 62nd annual meeting. Picciotto was in the North Tower when it began to collapse and was the last fireman to escape the devastation. He will speak Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
The keynote address is being co-sponsored by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Willis North America. The Annual Meeting and Seminars will take place in Nashville, Tenn., at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Sept. 9-12.
"Chief Picciotto's address will undoubtedly be a moving experience for any Annual Meeting attendee, especially with it being on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks," said Millicent W. Workman, the Society's 2005-2006 president.
