The American Insurance Association (AIA) has launched a web site that it says will help give property-casualty insurers the option of becoming nationally regulated. Regulation has been a hot topic since legislation was introduced in April by Senators John Sununu and Tim Johnson, who proposed establishing a federal program of insurance regulation that would operate in conjunction with the current state-based system (see related article HYPERLINK “http://cms.nationalunderwriter.com/cms/Claims/Monthly%20Issues/Issues/2006/05/cb2?origin=dept-Capitol%20Beat”here ).
