In partnership with Identity Theft 911, the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is offering a new service to help homeowner customers recover or recreate missing personal identification and documentation after disasters or other mishaps. In addition to complimentary access to the new Identity Disaster Response 911 service, homeowners can obtain assistance from Identity Theft 911 if they become the targets of identity thieves.
“This new service is especially important following a hurricane, terrorist attack, or other catastrophe when individuals may have quickly evacuated their homes, potentially leaving behind some forms of identification, bank account numbers, and various insurance policies,” said Peter Spicer, vice president, Chubb & Son. “In situations like these, people cannot even begin the road to recovery without valid identification and other personal records.”
Identity Disaster Response 911 was created to help disaster victims obtain emergency identity authentication and access to their investment and bank accounts. Identity Theft 911 will work with government agencies and financial institutions to replace customers' identification documents, such as birth certificates, driver licenses, passports, and Social Security cards, as well as checks and credit/debit cards.
