Claims News Service, Nov. 11, 11:45 a.m. EST — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big "I") has released a set of 22 recommendations for needed improvements to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

The recommendations, if adopted, would modernize coverage, simplify processing and claims and expedite enforcement, and would also bring about many other needed reforms to this vital national program.

The proposal has six sections, including modernization of coverage; actuarial pricing/subsidization considerations; mandatory coverage/take-up rates; processing & claims simplification; enforcement; and miscellaneous suggestions.
