Claims News Service, Nov. 3, 8:54 a.m. EST — Crawford & Company's U.S. and International Catastrophe Services Units have adjusters in the Yucatan Peninsula and throughout Florida managing claims from Hurricane Wilma. The storm struck the Yucatan Peninsula as a deadly Category 4 hurricane and later moved across Florida as a Category 3 storm.
Crawford established catastrophe command centers in Tampa/Sarasota and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. In addition, a management team has set up an induction center in Orlando for adjusters deployed to the area.
Crawford's Mexican operation also deployed adjusters to the areas devastated by Wilma. Damage was heavy along the Yucatan coast with reports of flooding, downed power lines, and large amounts of debris. Many of the area's resort hotels and tourist attractions have reported damage.
