In order to help insureds be better prepared when it comes time to file claims, the Insurance Information Institute has placed free inventory software on its web site. KnowYourStuff.org allows users to creating a home inventory and is designed to make it easy to keep the information up to date. The software also includes lists of items in typical rooms to help guide the inventory process.
The software is available at www.knowyourstuff.org.
