Slips, trips, and falls by patrons and others are the most prevalent claims experienced by full-service restaurants, according to Restaurant Insurance Corp., of Greenwood Village, Colo. The analysis of claims filed by the company’s insured restaurants since 2002 showed that each such claim resulted in $3,550 in claim costs. Almost 51 percent of workers’ compensation claims were the result of two causes: slips, trips, and falls and cuts or puncture wounds.
