New York regulator Michael Moriarty was honored with the 2005Robert Dineen Award by the National Association of InsuranceCommissioners at this week's NAIC winter meeting.

Mr. Moriarty, director of the insurance department's CapitalMarkets Bureau, was cited for his leading role in the reform of theNAIC Securities Valuation Office.

The announcement of the award noted that he had also played akey role in developing the NAIC response to the questionssurrounding the use of finite reinsurance.
