Compass Inspection Services Group, LLC, said it has acquired Atlanta-based GPL Solutions.

Terms of the deal were not released.

CIS, headquartered in Hurst, Texas, is an inspection services firm for personal and commercial lines underwriters.

Michael Stanley, president of CIS, told National Underwriter that the firm was pleased to have made what it feels is a "big deal" for the firm.

Mr. Stanley said the acquisition is worth about $2 million and the addition of GPL, an inspection service for insurers, based in Atlanta, Ga., will expand the CIS geographic footprint to North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Gene Butler, president of GPL, will join CIS as vice president of field operations. Landon Jordan, vice president of operations for GPL, will direct CIS' technology pursuits.

CIS also has field offices in Los Angeles and Chicago.
