The AIR Worldwide Corp. modeling firm, which released a Chinaearthquake model earlier this year, said the firm has opened anoffice in Beijing.

Boston-based AIR, a subsidiary of Insurance Services Office inJersey City, N.J., said it now assists more than 400 insurers,reinsurers, government agencies and corporations with assessing andmanaging catastrophe risk.

"The opening of our office is an important step as we begin toservice the China insurance market," said Kenneth Zou, AIR's chiefrepresentative for China.
