Edward G. Troy has been named president and chief executive officer of the Parsippany, N.J.-based GAB Robins Group of Companies, a global claims services firm.

Mr. Troy, who is due to take his post next Monday, had most recently served as president of Ace USA’s risk management services company, ESIS, which is headquartered in Philadelphia.

He replaces Joseph Zubretsky, who left GAB Robins in March to become a senior executive vice president with UnumProvident Corp.

Before leaving Ace, Mr. Troy served as founder and president of his own risk management company, Ed Troy Associates.

Mr. Troy has also held senior positions with a number of insurance companies, including Liberty Mutual, AIG and CNA, and he began his career as a casualty underwriter at The Hartford.

“Ed brings over 35 years of proven industry experience in the risk management and property-casualty business as well as strategic vision and strong leadership abilities to GAB Robins,” said company chairman Jun Tsusaka. “Ed has an exceptional track record of growing businesses and maximizing profitability.”

GAB Robins has affiliated operations in 52 countries and provides loss adjusting, third-party administration and managed care services through its worldwide network. With more than 3,500 employees, the company handles approximately two million claims annually.
