Patrick Mitchell was named chief financial officer of Builders Insurance Group, based in Atlanta, Ga.
Mr. Mitchell replaces Matthew Pollack who left the position during the second quarter of this year, according to a company spokeswoman.
"We are very pleased that an executive of Patrick's caliber has joined our management team and we welcome him," Bill Lohmeyer, president and chief executive officer of Builders Insurance, said in a statement. "Patrick's leadership skills and proven track record will play an important role in positioning Builders for continued growth as we expand our portfolio of insurance offerings for the home building community."
Prior to joining Builders, Mr. Mitchell served as chairman and chief executive officer of Ascent Assurance Inc. (formerly Westbridge Capital Corp.). There, he managed the successful turnaround of the insurance holding company primarily for the individual health insurance market.
Builders Insurance is a commercial property-casualty insurance company writing workers' compensation and general liability insurance in the Southeast.
