Bryan Named Acting New Jersey Commissioner

Mr. Bryan has been an employee of the department since 1982 anddirector of the Division of Insurance since 1999, the departmentsaid. Appointed by, he also served in the role of actingcommissioner from October 2001 to February 2002.

Acting Gov. Richard J. Codey, in appointing Mr. Bryan to thepost, said his "long experience with the Department of Banking andInsurance will ensure an immediate transition of leadership andassure the stability of this important regulatory agency."

Previously, Mr. Bryan served as assistant commissioner oflegislative and regulatory affairs. He worked as a regulatoryofficer, as manager of the insurance licensing functions and withthe New Jersey Real Estate Commission, the department said.
