Bryan Named Acting New Jersey Commissioner
NU Online News Service, Feb. 21, 4:08 p.m. EST?Donald Bryan, a career public servant, has beent named acting commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.[@@]
Mr. Bryan has been an employee of the department since 1982 and director of the Division of Insurance since 1999, the department said. Appointed by, he also served in the role of acting commissioner from October 2001 to February 2002.
Acting Gov. Richard J. Codey, in appointing Mr. Bryan to the post, said his "long experience with the Department of Banking and Insurance will ensure an immediate transition of leadership and assure the stability of this important regulatory agency."
Previously, Mr. Bryan served as assistant commissioner of legislative and regulatory affairs. He worked as a regulatory officer, as manager of the insurance licensing functions and with the New Jersey Real Estate Commission, the department said.
