Merger Workshop On Tap For May

NU Online News Service, Jan. 28, 4:26 p.m. EST?A consulting firm announced it will be holding a workshop in May with two trade organizations providing agents and bank executives with merger and acquisition information.

Reagan Consulting, Atlanta-based financial advisor and management consulting firm, said session is designed for agents, brokers, and bank executives who are investigating the merger and acquisition arena, the company said.

The firm said the workshop will offer information on the most important issues to consider before buying, selling, or transferring ownership in an independent insurance agency.

The event will be run by Reagan with the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers and the American Bankers Insurance Association.

The three-day event will be held May 1 to 3 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Atlanta.

The workshop will cover such topics as:

? Valuation.

? Deal structure.

? Negotiation.

? Post-deal integration.

? Relevant tax, legal and contractual

issues.

? Best practices relating to internal

transfers of ownership.

? Industry updates.
