New Overtime Regulations Can Be Daunting

Risk managers face employment practices exposures if new rules are violated

New regulations circulated by the U.S. Department of Labor, in effect since Aug. 23, have changed the rules for employers on when and in what circumstances overtime pay is owed to workers. These rules are a culmination of several years of regulatory rulemaking by the DOL with input from politicians, unions, employers and special-interest groups.
