AIG Comp Web Site Offers New Features
NU Online News Service, Nov. 29, 3:17 p.m. EST?American International Group said its workers' compensation division is adding new wrinkles to its Web site including handy features for small business customers such as an online loss prevention system.[@@
"It's unique in the sense that it provides small business customers something they haven't able to obtain before," commented AIG Specialty Workers' Compensation Senior Vice President Larry Corsi.
AIG said its Web location www.aigswc.com, referred to as its "Partners in Productivity" Web site will also enable its small business policyholders and their brokers to report claims online and to request and receive loss runs electronically.
The company said launch of the new online functionality allows customers and their representatives to immediately submit claims to AIG Specialty Workers' Compensation claims adjusters for review.
By providing direct electronic access through the Web site, the company said AIG Specialty Workers' Compensation will reduce processing time for individual claims and engage claims management capabilities on a timelier basis.
The new system functions were specifically designed to respond to a major priority of policyholders--enhanced communication and response to claims, according to AIG.
Mr. Corsi said the loss prevention help at the site ranges from search engine information to the ability to build customized programs for businesses.
As an example of how it might be employed, he said, it could be used by a company to create and inventory a company's hazardous chemicals and develop a document online for communicating dangers to workers "that follows OSHA standards."
He said the system allows a company to build a document on the site using its own proprietary information that can be, viewed on site or printed. The site, he said, "provides tremendous push content" and allows for a server to be established for a company with everything proprietary for that business.
"Our Web site has been well received by customers and brokers," said Jim Roberts, president, AIG Specialty Workers' Compensation. "The ability to streamline the claim reporting system and provide online loss runs are important next steps for improved customer service."
He said these features combine with the AIG RiskTool System that serves as the online loss prevention and risk management platform, providing "a comprehensive set of resources that will help policyholders improve workplace safety."
AIG said as part of today's launch, the new Partners in Productivity Web site enables insureds to download loss runs in Adobe PDF or Microsoft? Excel format.
AIG Specialty Workers' Compensation is a provider of workers' comp coverage for small and midsize employers. The division offers complete underwriting, loss control and claim services for a comprehensive range of workers' compensation risks.
