Stiglitz Nominated IIABA President-Elect
NU Online News Service, April 30, 4:18 p.m. EDT--William G. Stiglitz III was nominated president-elect and Alex Soto, vice president, of the Alexandria, Va.-based Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.[@@]
The nominations came from the National Board of State Directors meeting and will go to IIABA membership for confirmation.
If elected, Mr. Stiglitz and Mr. Soto would assume their office at the 2004 Big "I" Convention in Orlando, Fla., this October.
The conference is scheduled to take place Oct. 9-12 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan Hotels.
Mr. Stiglitz, who is currently the IIABA's vice president, is an account executive with the firm of Hyland, Block & Hyland Inc., in Louisville, Ky.
During his 33-year career as an independent agent, Mr. Stiglitz was a past-president and state national director for the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky. He served on the state's board of directors, on the Government Affairs Committee, and as chairman of its Awards and Recognition Committee. He also is a past-president of the Louisville Board of Independent Insurance Agents. Nationally, he has served as planning liaison to the Executive Committee.
Mr. Soto, president of Miami, Fla.-based InSource Inc., is currently an at-large member of the IIABA Executive Committee.
