NER To Report Equipment Theft Figures

NU Online News Service, Jan. 27, 9:24 a.m. EST?A report analyzing patterns and criminal elements behind heavy equipment theft in the United States will be released Friday, The National Equipment Register announced.[@@]

The study looks at construction and farm equipment losses and recoveries. Its statistical information comes from NER's database of more than 30,000 theft reports and figures from the Insurance Services Office. NER said the report seeks to answer questions concerning who steals how much of what equipment, from where, how, why and where does it go?
