Aon Declares Dividend

NU Online News Service, Jan. 20, 8;58 a.m. EST?Chicago-based insurance broker Aon Corp. has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 15 cents a share payable Feb. 24 to stockholders of record as of Feb. 10.[@@]

The dividend payments have remained stable at 15 cents a share since November of 2002.

For the third quarter of 2003, the firm reported net income of $115 million, or 36 cents a share, a drop of 10 percent, or $13 million, from $128 million, or 46 cents a share for the same period last year. Revenues increased for the quarter by 7 percent or $149 million, going from $2.24 billion in 2002 to $2.4 billion.

For the nine months, net income grew $125 million, or 43 percent, going from $288 million, or $1.03 a share, to $413 million, or $1.30 a share. Revenues increased 12 percent, or $765 million, going from $6.44 billion to $7.21 billion.

Aon has not yet announced its fourth quarter, end of year results.
