I was reading the Wall Street Journal the other day, looking at the best and worst stock sectors in the U.S. last quarter. I couldnt help but notice two big standouts in the worst performer category: Insurance, Full-Line (down 2 percent) and Insurance Life (up 4.1 percent). Ouch! The Dow Jones was up 12.4 percent for the same period, and NASDAQ, 21 percent. Looks like our industry still is trying to find a recovery. That means even closer scrutiny of questionable internal expenses, and that means you, Mr. or Ms. CIO! Are you cutting the mustard? Can you justify your salary (not to mention the perks)? Lets see just how smart you are.
