Ebix Drops ?Dot Com' From Name
NU Online News Service, Dec. 31, 9:55 a.m. EST?Ebix announced it has changed its name from ebix.com Inc. to Ebix Inc.[@@]
The Atlanta-based software and e-commerce solutions provider to the industry said it has also changed its logo. The new logo can be seen at www.ebix.com.
"Over the last few quarters, the company has expanded its portfolio of services substantially with a strong focus on custom software development and business process outsourcing," said Robin Raina, the company's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "The former name did not do justice to our brick and mortar infrastructure in India and the related BPO, call center and development divisions. So, we decided to re-christen the company as Ebix Inc."
Mr. Raina continued that the company is proud of its "pioneering role in the insurance industry in terms of bringing Internet ASP-based products to the insurance industry."
He added, "We will continue to bring such state of the art technologies to the industry, in addition to providing cost effective outsourced services from our BPO, Call Center & Development divisions."
