PIA Capitol Hill Lobbying Safari Set For April
NU Online News Service, Jan.17, 11:29 a.m. EST? The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents announced that its annual lobbying pilgrimage and political fundraiser in Washington, D.C. will be held April 3.
PIA said its Federal Legislative Summit would gather members from across the nation with a one-day legislative “fly-in” to lobby their elected representatives in their Capitol Hill offices.
“It is essential that PIA members have this annual opportunity to visit with their elected representatives at their Capitol Hill offices to make their views known,” said PIA Federal Affairs Committee Chairman Robert P. Page of Homa, La. “There is no better way to forge and maintain relationships with lawmakers than to do it up close and personal.”
PIA said the Summit would begin with a breakfast and briefings at the Capitol Hill Club followed by PIA member meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
For the evening, the group has scheduled the Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee (PIAPAC) annual fundraising dinner.
Guest speakers will be announced later.
PIA said registration forms for the 2003 PIA Federal Legislative Summit and the PIAPAC Fundraising Dinner can be downloaded at www.PIANET.com, and agents can also contact PIA National Director of Political Affairs Kellie Bray at firstname.lastname@example.org or(703) 518-1364.
The PIA trade association represents member insurance agents and their employees who sell and service all kinds of insurance, but specialize in coverage of automobiles, homes and businesses.
